What you’ll get from JPRN:
My writing has been described as a “rollercoaster”: essays, subjective research, some sharpened rage at times, inspired by research for my exhibitions or my podcast Exhibitionistas.
I constellate my topics through the lens of inclusive feminism / gender, technology, literature, and contemporary art. And vice-versa. I bring an insider’s perspective as a curator; I’m fuelled by that obsessive neurodivergent research passion.
Why subscribe?
My writing stems from two decades of work in the art field and from all the topics I can’t fully develop in the podcast or in my exhibitions. I also write about the art field from a pro perspective as an independent worker. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD, so I’m also doing an internal investigation of how neurodivergence weaves my relation to art and my work.
Exhibitionistas Files
What is Exhibitionistas? It’s a podcast inviting you to explore contemporary art with passion and a sharp critical mind through different types of episodes such as interviews, immersive episodes and thematic angles.
Yours,
Joana
ETHICAL READING & LISTENING
Currently, journalists and specifically art writers have reduced or eye-waveringly low paid opportunities to publish in established media outlets. Moreover, the platforms which provided access to independent professionals are playing with algorithms and AI, promoting those who already have a big following and produce clickbait. Show your LOVE for dedicated, personal, researched WORK. Resist the uniformisation of wonder.
